Bu yıl 94'üncüsü verilen Oscar Ödülleri, üç yılın ardından ilk kez sunuculu gerçekleştirilen törenle sahiplerini buldu. Törende ödüllerden çok sahnede yaşanan skandal tokat konuldu.

King Richard'daki rolüyle 'En İyi Erkek Oyuncu' ödülünü kazanan Will Smith, ödülünü almak için sahneye çıktığında komedyen Chris Rock'a yumruk attı.

Sahnedeki hareketin mizansen olup olmadığı tartışılıyor.

Ünlü komedyen Rock, Will Smith'in eşinin saç kıran hastalığı nedeniyle kazıttığı saçlarıyla ilgili espriler yapınca oldukça sinirlenen oyuncu sahneye çıkarak tokat attı.

Yayıncı kuruluş olay esnasında programın sesini kapattı.
